Search For An Online Request
Step 1 - Navigating to the Online Requests Overlay
Click Online Requests on the left side menu to open the drop down menu for online requests.
Then, click Request Types to bring up the Online Requests Overlay.
Step 2 - Selecting Desired Jurisdiction and Project Type
Use the Jurisdiction and Project Type drop down to select the desired jurisdiction and project type.
Once the jurisdiction and project types have been set, this will show all online requests for that specific jurisdiction/project type.
Navigating the Online Requests Overlay Results
The below is an example of search results from the Online Requests Overlay. This main overlay allows many different functionality changes that is also shown when opening a specific request.
Customer Portal/Online Request Links:
At the very top of the page, near the Jurisdiction/Project Type selection, there are 4 button links that allow for copying direct links to various pages for the jurisdiction:
1. Jurisdiction - Provides a direct link to that specific jurisdiction’s landing page. (In the above example, this would bring you directly to Tate County’s jurisdiction landing page).
2. Project Type - Provides a direct link to that specific jurisdiction’s project type that is selected. (In the above example, this would bring you directly to Tate County’s Permitting/Planning project type page).
NOTE: If you utilize category buttons on the MGO Connect Customer Portal page, this may cause some discrepancies with the buttons due to the online requests being in different categories.
3. “New” Request Types - Provides a direct link to all “New” online requests in that jurisdiction’s project type. (In the above example, this would bring you directly to all “New” online requests in Tate County’s Permitting/Planning project type).
4. “Add to Existing” Request Types - Provides a direct link to all “Add To Existing” online requests in that jurisdiction’s project type. (In the above example, this would bring you directly to all “Add To Existing” online requests in Tate County’s Permitting/Planning project type).
In addition to these links, there are also direct links to a specific online request.
(In the above example, this would bring you directly to Tate County’s Agricultural Building Permit Application).
Sorting Online Requests
In the Overlay header, click on a column header to sort it. Only one column can be sorted at a time.
Ascending
Descending
Gear icon
Clicking the gear icon will allow you to Edit the online request.
NOTE: This will leave the Online Requests Overlay. If you click back, it will cause the Overlay results to reset causing you to re-do your overlay jurisdiction/project type filters.
Explanations of Each Column
NOTE: After modifying any of the columns, there will be a popup on the top right of the screen saying “Success” if the change goes through.
Active
Click “Yes”/”No” to toggle if the online request is active or not. If the request is toggled “NO”, then this will hide the request on the customer portal and in the jurisdiction portal.
NOTE: This will cause all requests (even unprocessed ones) to be hidden in the Jurisdiction portal. If you just want to hide the requests, then it is best to modify the “CP Section” to Hidden to hide it only on the Customer Portal (see below).
Name
Click on the text to modify the name of the online request.
Description
Click on the text to modify the description of the online request. This section allows some html code to allow different colored words, bolded text, Webpage links, etc.
New/Add To Existing
Click “New”/”Add To Existing” to toggle if the request is a New request or an Add to Existing request. Add to Existing requests are “sub-requests” that link underneath a main new request.
CP Section
Click on “1”/”2”/”3”/”-1” to set the Customer Portal (CP) section of the request.
1. Section 1 corresponds to the Permitting category
2. Section 2 corresponds to the Planning & Zoning category
3. Section 3 corresponds to the Code Enforcement/Solution Center category
4. Section -1/Hidden means that the online request is completely hidden from the Customer Portal
NOTE: These are the base categories for the Customer Portal. We now have the ability to do even more categories with direct Customer Portal buttons.
Work Type
Click the Work Type text to select from the Project Type Work Types. This will automate setting the Work Type of the request and project (once the request is accepted).
Auto-Accept
Click “Yes”/”No” to toggle if the online request should be auto-accepted as a project or not. This automates acceptance of the request into a project.
Sort Order
Click “Not Set”/”Number” to modify the Sort Order that the online requests will appear in on the Customer Portal. By default, the requests appear in alphabetical order, however, modifying this will change the Sort Order that those requests appear on the Customer Portal.
Creating New Online Request
To create a brand new online request, click on the “New” button near the Jurisdiction/Project Type selection. After this, fill out the required Name, New/ATE, and Section (CP Section) fields and non-required Description and WorkType fields (if needed).
NOTE: This will only create the “shell” of the request. This request will be an empty request unless you associate the questionnaire and other sections.
Opening/Modifying an Online Request
To open and modify an online request, click the gear icon next to the request.
NOTE: This will leave the Online Requests Overlay. If you click back using the browser, it will cause the Overlay results to reset causing you to re-do your overlay jurisdiction/project type filters. Instead, click “Return” to return to the overlay.
